St. John’s Cathedral, one of the oldest churches in Jacksonville, invites the Saint Andrew’s Society of Jacksonville to their St. Andrew’s Day celebration Evensong.
Each November St. John’s Cathedral Choir celebrates the Feast of St. Andrew with a festal service of choral evensong. One of their most beloved annual musical traditions, St. Andrew’s Day Evensong shows liturgy at its finest, featuring the Cathedral choir, Cathedral brass and Jacksonville Pipes and Drums.
Evensong is a traditional service held towards sunset and usually features choral arrangements.
St, Andrew’s is the patron saint of Scotland. Saint Andrew’s Day is an official bank holiday in Scotland, and is celebrated each year on November 30th.
